Hi！Welcome to Official Website of Guizhou Province Tourism !
It is a traditional festival of Gelao minority in various regions of Guizhou, which is mostly held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, while a few regions set the day on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month. On that day, people buy meat and wine, kill chickens and sheep for meat, and pick some precocious rice and corn to cook boiled rice. Kidney beans and green soy beans are made into dishes to worship ancestors. Then the whole family sit together, drink and talk and eat the newly-produced rice, which is known as “eat the new”.
